The Westmarks lived in Newport Hills which used to be and may still be a development in Bellevue, Washington. There have been some new cities incorporated in the area, so I hedge. I checked the area out shortly after the deaths. Yes, it was a newer house. I am going to be lazy here and open myself to criticism, because I have not determined the year of construction, (nor do I intend to). I do know a little, and my opinion is that the house was one of those built when too much emphasis was placed upon sealing houses.
This wasn't just a fad that contractors glommed onto to have another selling point, although the utilities can be blamed for pushing "energy efficient" homes. (They should not only be blamed but also "drawn and quartered"). No, this was actually required by law. It was part of the Bellevue codes. The Bellevue planners and officials of the time should also be "drawn and quartered." They were openly stealing property rights. What's one more little thing like taking someone's air away? They would say that it was required by state law and unfunded federal mandates. They would not be totally wrong. However, draw and quarter them anyway. This puts them in a class with Hitler's henchmen, "just following orders." Unfair, you say. Well, the final bill hasn't been tallied yet. What have been all the consequences? What if "they" are now trying to start a civil war to escape detection and punishment? Too crazy? Why are "they" afraid of your guns and increasingly hiding behind bullet proof plexiglass in guarded "fortresses?"
Are "they" trying to foment and incite problems in the schools? Are "they" hoping for more gun incidents? No? Then, why can't "they" shut up about guns and violence? What is the "Wisdom of the Ages?" Are some cops "their" stooges, doing the "on-site" dirty work for "them?"
Assertion: Every home built this way ("air tight") made its owners into second class citizens. It put them on a level of poor people who inhabited the "teeming tenaments" of our large cities. That's right!
Do you know what happens in tenaments and why? Not all tenament dwellers fall victim, however. Some work hard to get out. Some have faith that is strong and the discipline to persevere. Many don't. Does this give you a clue to why "they" are attacking faith, and why "they" will not permit discipline?
Do you have an image of a tenament? Small, one room flat. Mom and Pop and a parcel of kids. How about anger, abuse, rage? Pop can't take it and leaves. Why would that be, even before our welfare system came along to subsidize and encourage his leaving?
Could it be that men have a lower tolerance for CO2?
Men traditionally worked in the fields, woods, or went to sea. Fresh air, little carbon dioxide. Women traditionally stayed home, and they like warm and cozy (by now you should have a theory why men dislike candle light while "girlie-men" don't). This is where the highest CO2 levels used to be found. Probably nothing like in our modern sealed homes though.
Could it be that our modern sealed home is so bad that it is not cozy, it is STIFLING! Not even the women can stand them. They want jobs to escape the "confinement" of an air-tight home. Problem is many workplaces are bad also. No matter. "From the frying pan to the fire," eh? Besides, too many females have been brainwashed into believing that careers are most important. What did you honestly believe would happen when homemaking was disparaged?
Could it be that sealed buildings and changed emission, leading to more CO2, is seen by feminists as a way to make men less competitive, since men are more susceptible to its effects? Do you know the effects?
Can you recall "spring cleaning" from the old days? I have seen nothing like it recently. This used to be an important event. "Couped up" inside, suffering from "cabin fever," (effects of carbon dioxide?), the women I knew as a kid, looked forward to that time when they could open all the doors and windows and do some "deep cleaning" while an abundance of real fresh air worked its magic. They were proud of their cleaning abilities and accomplishments too.
What about Westmark? Was he a victim of the Bellevue Tenaments? I don't know. He apparently, according to sources I don't particularly trust, had a long-standing problem with depression. Ok, I'll accept that. But, I know that CO2 contributes to depression. Such a house was the worst, or one of the worst things, for a man like Westmark.
Was Westmark a victim of the Bellevue tenaments and a shrewish wife? I don't know the answer for sure. Tenaments and shrews do go together. It is a natural.
I can speculate. I can lay out my thoughts for you.
That will take us to the next and, I think, the final installment in the Westmark Saga, . . . . . The "Unholy Alliance".
