WHISTLE BLOWERS ON ENRON
And 'Coming Attractions - - - 'theirs and mine.
The Maureen Dowd commentary, New York Times, February 6, 2002, "Women the whistleblowers on Enron" (I saw it in my local rag around this date) got me going. I can't wait for the movie Maureen describes.
Angelina Jolie's "power plant tatoos" were the enticement I just feel unable to resist. Where will they be located? I have a couple of suggestions.
Whatsa "Shoshanna Lonstein bustier?" Has life really passed me by? Have I missed something? (Again)?
The Enron Whistle Blowing Babes have names straight from Central Casting. Loretta Lynch! Lynch whom? And Bethany McLean. They, at Central Casting, would have preferred "McClean," but thought that would be too obvious. And, McLean has a certain sensibility of its own when juxtaposed against the 'McFat' cats who robbed everyone blind.
Speaking of cats, Maureen recalls that famous Carmen Miranda quote, "the cat was spilling out of the beans." Anyone who can utter wisdom like that and wear a fruit salad on her head has got my respect. (Sorry, Hoyt, the cat was not cool, and he did say a mumblin' word).
I guess Carmen was suggested to Maureen Dowd by the Maureen Casteneda character. Castenets. Carmen is the first person who comes to mind. However, this name seems somewhat fishy to me also. Central Casting again. Casta Needa or Need a Cast? Perhaps I have just been too suspicious ever since '007' was chosen for that KAL flight that violated Russian airspace.
Women whistleblowers on Enron. Well, it is not the usual object women have been blowing of late as reported in the media. Is it a welcome change, or is there still something "rotten in Denmark?" There is still this nagging sense that we are the rats in the maze, and that we are helpless to not adhere to the script.
I am beginning to feel more and more like the little Dutch boy with his finger in the dike. Worse, I think I am beginning to understand what it may really mean.
Now, stay tuned for my 'Coming Attraction.' Despite a voice I hear saying, "don't go down there," I am compelled to explore this in depth in the near future.
Lucky you!?! Unlucky me?!?
